Workplace Overview
The Dental Solutions division at Solventum creates an immense portfolio of physical products and supports several digital software platforms as well. In my role as Lead UX Designer, I focus on designing a software environment for a variety of internal technicians who work closely with dentists and orthodontists worldwide to create treatment plans for their patients. Although multifaceted, this platform offers a pathway for technicians to prepare prescriptions for products such as clear tray aligners manufactured by Solventum.
Formerly 3M
A brand new health care company, named Solventum, was formed through a spinoff of 3M’s health care divisions, officially becoming an independent company in April, 2024. Visit the Solventum Oral Care website.
Project Examples
My primary focus at Solventum involves enhancing the existing design, creating new features and user experiences, and conducting research and testing in various ways for our internal-facing software system. Working in an agile environment helps to keep projects and stories moving smoothly and efficiently. I appreciate the depth of knowledge needed to work on this software. There are often complex problems to solve, but this allows me to push my skills and learning to the next level.
A sub-project we are working on is implementing new design systems for both our internal and external-facing software platforms.
We are also creating new sub-environments to improve and enhance the workflow for our internal technicians.
